About

Mr. Cummins grew up in Fairhill, Cork where he went to an Irish language school, Gaelcholáiste Mhuire AG, aka The North Monastery AG, where all subjects were taught in the Irish language. After this, Andrew decided to enter the corporate environment, having seen other family members achieve success in this area. Initially, he went into banking, later joining Benchmark International to gain more exposure and experience in the corporate dealmaking process.

At Benchmark International, Andrew heads up the team of researchers and outreachers in the Cork office. He is responsible for making sure the team are using their resources and skills effectively to source key interested parties for our clients, as well as manage the communication to bring those parties to the table for our clients.

Education

Professional Diploma in Financial Advice (QFA) – The Institute of Banking through University College Dublin (UCD)

Munster Technological University (MTU) – Bachelors of Business in Marketing, achieving a 2.1

experience

After completing his degree, Andrew started work with Ulster Bank (RBS) where he was exposed to a lot of commercial customers and could also see under the hood as to how businesses are funded.  This, coupled with his role in an advisory capacity for personal customers, allowed him to hone some of the skills which he uses every day in his role at Benchmark.

Andrew's global experience extends beyond the banking sector having taught English in Shanghai. Here, he developed his communication skills further (which he admits, a major language barrier tends to do that!) He has also opened an art gallery which required networking, marketing, and general bootstrapping to get off the ground.

Andrew opted to join Benchmark as it was a great opportunity to become part of a growing company in Ireland and gain experience in corporate finance and M&A.
