Benchmark International is pleased to announce the acquisition of electrical test and commissioning company, WJ Project Services (WJPS), and Amcomri.
Established in 2007, WJPS operates as a tier 1 or subcontractor in the rail, private network, and offshore sectors throughout the UK. It has an in-house team of specialist electrical engineers that undertake comprehensive installation, testing and commissioning projects within complex power supply systems.
Amcomri is a fast-growing, acquisitive group of quality British engineering and manufacturing businesses. The company is focused on infrastructure obsolescence and maintenance in the power generation, railway, water, and petrochemical sectors, whilst also providing capital equipment to manufacturers of printed circuit boards.
Post transaction, founders of WJPS Leon White and Ashley Jordan will remain fully involved in the company, continuing in their roles as joint managing directors and working with the Amcomri team to support the ongoing growth of the company.
Following the prior acquisitions of TP Matrix Ltd and eTrac Limited, WJPS is the latest addition to Amcomri’s specialist electronics and electrical engineering division, further expanding the group’s interest to now cover HV power electrical engineering with a strong focus on the rail and light rail transit sector.
Mr Jordan said: “Having built WJ Project Services into a robust and successful business, we wanted to ensure that we could continue to provide high quality HV power engineering solutions with the full and enthusiastic support of a reputable and experienced new owner, who would fully value our staff who have been a key part of our success. We feel that the Amcomri team will be an important part of the next phase of development for the company and are very much looking forward to working with them.”
Hugh Whitcomb, CEO of Amcomri, commented: “WJ Project Services provides a further enhancement of our expanding capability in rail orientated specialist electronics and electrical power engineering. The skills and expertise of the WJPS team will be a significant addition to our group capability, and we very much look forward to working with Ashley, Leon and the whole team at WJPS to continue to build on their enviable technical reputation, and progressively deliver further success to the business.”
