About
Nicolas grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa in an entrepreneurial family, with several family members having started and run successful businesses for many years. It was here that he gained a passion for entrepreneurship and business.
Nicolas began his working career as a business analyst in a business intelligence consultancy, which afforded him the opportunity, at a young age, to meet senior executives and entrepreneurs of large private and listed companies and engage in high level business discussions and decisions with industry leaders.
As part of Benchmark International, Nicolas facilitates meetings between clients and potential buyers, reviews buyer offers, negotiates deal terms, and oversees the due diligence and legal processes of transactions.
Experience
Prior to joining Benchmark International, Nicolas spent 7 years working in corporate finance consulting, being exposed to various areas of corporate finance including mergers & acquisitions, capital raising, valuations, due diligence, and forecasting. During this time, he worked on both the buy- and sell-sides of transactions and this exposure has provided him with comprehensive experience in facilitating the sale of businesses for clients. In the latter 3 years of this time, Nicolas focused on sell-side advisory, gaining experience in all stages of the selling process. He has worked on numerous transactions in varying industries and has built relationships with many buyers in South Africa and abroad.

Education
Nicolas Souvaris earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Economics from the University of Johannesburg, where he also completed his Honours in Monetary and Financial Economics. This strong academic foundation has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of economic principles and financial systems, enhancing his ability to excel in the field of corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
Passion
Nicolas has always had a passion for entrepreneurship and business and enjoys working with entrepreneurs, learning how they build and run successful companies. Throughout his career, Nicolas has had the aim of working in M&A. He has gained valuable experience on both the buy- and sell-sides of mergers and acquisitions, and today, uses that experience to achieve optimal results for clients looking to exit their businesses and realize their wealth.
