About
Mr. Deslauriers was born in Africa to a French couple, a mining engineer, and a high school teacher. He changed places quite often, roughly every four years. He grew up mainly in France, enjoyed the tuition-free French education system up to law school, and moved to Hong Kong after ten years into his professional life for an MBA. As a Transaction Director at Benchmark International, Etienne manages a small team and portfolio with one goal: to help Benchmark International's clients find the best buyer for their company. Over the last 20 years, He has approached M&A from different angles: legal, financing, buy-side, and then sell-side for small, medium, and large companies. He has also had the "opportunity" to assist clients through two significant financial crises after the Internet bubble burst and the Subprimes.

Experience
Prior to joining Benchmark International, Mr. Deslauriers started his professional life in Monaco as a business lawyer with a focus on M&A. Etienne then changed path to manage a small team of corporate bankers in Paris, France, dedicated to the financing of acquisitions by public companies and Bn$ PE firms. After his MBA, Etienne set up his own investment platform with two other individuals and invested in small businesses in the wood industry. He traveled extensively for five years before settling in Chicago, IL, and started working remotely. Family considerations brought Etienne to Tennessee right before COVID. After years of commuting between France and the US, Etienne wanted to open a brand-new all-US chapter and picked a job in Nashville, TN, where he could put his experience to use.
